A side-scroller with a rifle and a score. Captain USA is FreeOnlineGames' 2008 run-and-gun, and it keeps its screen plain: the hero stands in a wooded field, the enemies come at him from both sides, and the whole interface is a strip of counters along the bottom -- lives, score and time. The movie's own code names the rest -- bullets, enemy_die, enemyshoot, heroshoot -- and tracks a bomb count beside the hero's lives, so the fight is fought with a gun, a bomb and the clock.\n\nThe title card is a wordmark over the field with its buttons underneath: Game Instructions, Free Games for your Website and View High Scores, with a single PLAY beneath them. Past PLAY the level opens with its HUD -- LIVES 3, SCORE 0, a TIME counting up and a MENU button -- and the run begins. A finished game offers the FreeOnlineGames nickname-and-score table, which the movie posts to like the rest of the publisher's catalogue.
