Dirt Bike Championship
A motocross rider, a hillside of jumps and a computer opponent riding beside you. Dirt Bike Championship is a side-on race from FreeOnlineGames in 2008: you accelerate and lean your machine over a course of humps and slopes, and the first rider to the finish takes it. The arrow keys do the work -- accelerate, lean back, lean forward, reverse -- while P pauses and S toggles the sound.
The leaning is the whole game. Land wrong and the rider goes over the bars; land clean and the momentum carries into the next jump, so each level is a line to find rather than a throttle to hold. It is head-to-head rather than a time trial, which means the machine beside you sets the pace, and the courses climb from a gentle first run to steep, technical ones later. It handles like the archive's Dirt Bike games because it runs on the same physics engine.
