Hexxagon
Hexxagon is Paul Neave's 2003 version of the board game Argo Games wrote in 1992. You play the red diamonds and the blue ones are the opponent's; moving a piece beside an enemy flips it to your colour, and the board flips back and forth until one colour owns it.
A piece has two moves, and which one you want is the whole game. A green highlight doubles the piece into an empty hex at a distance; a yellow one jumps it into the space next to an enemy. Neave's own page calls it a game that is easier to play than it is to explain, and his version is the one most people met first: a small board, a sharp red, and a move that is either a double or a jump and never both.
