I.T. Kid

A man wakes up inside a cube with no memory of how he got there and one instruction: get out without dying. Hypercube is Eggy's 2008 platformer for FreeOnlineGames, and each room is a single fixed screen you have to survive -- barbed spikes, whirling rotaries, and gaps that drop away under your feet. The arrow keys move him, up takes a jump or a climb, and the ways out are marked on the wall: an End of Level pad, a Level Rotary and a Jump Pad.

Touch a hazard and the room starts again, so the game is really about reading a screen before you move. Behind the menu there is a level select with Easy, Medium and Hard runs, each holding its own set of locked rooms to work through. The dressing is pure Flash-era shock-horror -- red type, barbed wire and blood -- and the whole thing runs in one small square of horror-film atmosphere.
