The New Frogger
An unofficial recreation of the road-and-river crossing game, in the FreeOnlineGames syndication build. Frogger drops a single frog at the foot of a five-lane road and asks it to reach one of the five bays along the top: dodge the cars, then ride the logs, turtles and crocodiles across the water without falling in. The wrapper states the only rule the game needs -- 'Use the arrow keys to guide the frog into the bushes' -- and the arrow keys are the whole control set.
Its FreeOnlineGames branding sits over a plain title screen: the FREE ONLINE GAMES.COM wordmark, that one line of instruction, and a START GAME button in the corner. Past it the stage recreates the arcade original's layout -- a strip of grass, a grey road carrying cars in both directions, a blue river of logs and diving turtles, and the row of home bays at the top -- with the frog's lives and the score kept as the run goes. The movie's own strings name the publisher's two usual calls, a desktop download and an email sign-up, both of which are dead; the archive's copy of the game is byte-identical to the one Flashpoint kept, so this is the same build the library judged playable.
