Thing Thing Arena Classic

Thing Thing Arena Classic is CrazyMonkeyGames' 2013 rebuild of the first Thing Thing Arena, and the publisher's own description is one line: "Gun 'em all down in this new version of a great action classic!" There is no story here and no levels -- it is the Arena: an enclosed arena, waves of enemies that keep coming, and nothing to do but last as long as you can. What makes it a Thing-Thing game rather than any arena shooter is the dressing the series is known for: a character you can dress and recolour before you go in (`charModel_changeAppearance`), a wide weapon set that has to be unlocked and is kept between runs (`weaponsUnlocked`, `weaponsNew`, `weapon1` and `weapon2` in hand at once), and a survival score that is submitted to CrazyMonkeyGames' own board at the end of a run (`submitScore`, `ScoreSubmitter`, `loadHighScorePage`, and the game's own `bestScore_survival` kept on the machine). Enemy variety is the series' usual crowd of grunts and zombies, each with its own death animation, and the sound runs on ten or so channels of its own. It shipped in 2013 on the same engine as Thing Thing Arena Pro, which came out three months earlier.
