Although it is technically possible to win this game without even thinking of any strategy, it makes it much more meaningful and enjoyable if you think and know what you are doing.

Here is the first tip.
It is tempting to put a mushroom in a road corner so an enemy passes the firing range of the fungus longer. Never the less, it could prove more useful to position a mushroom between two roads, so an enemy will leave the firing range and then enter it later in the other segment of the road. This brake gives your mushroom just a bit more time to reload and spreads firepower more evenly between enemies of one wave.
